Tell Congress What’s Up

The Mississippi River flows through the heart of America. For centuries, it has nourished our crops, fostered our wildlife and sustained our families. Today, our great River is in trouble. Pollution from farms, untreated sewage and factories along with weak enforcement of water laws has caused our once mighty Mississippi to decline.

Together, we can protect the Mississippi River for future generations.Click one of the links below to tell Congress what’s up on issues affecting our River. We are dedicated to providing avenues for all Americans to lend their voice to the choir calling for River protections. Take a moment to speak up on the River’s behalf and keep checking back for more actions you can take.

Stand up for the Gulf today!

More than a year ago, the BP Gulf disaster spewed millions of gallons of crude oil into the Gulf of Mexico, threatening the lives of more than 400 species of wildlife, only one of which is humans. HELP TODAY!

All water is created equal

We love reminding people about all of the amazing facts and figures that flow from the Mississippi River. For instance, it’s 2,320 miles long, flowing from Lake Itasca, Minnesota, all the way to the Gulf of Mexico. The Mississippi River connects the lives and livelihoods of what some might consider widely disparate groups of people, like eagle watchers in St. Louis and Bourbon Street partiers in New Orleans. No matter where we live or how we spend our time, our Big River sustains us. HELP TODAY!
