On Saturday, June 16, Outdoors Inc. held its 31st Annual Canoe and Kayak Race in Memphis, Tenn.

Both professional and amateur canoe and kayak paddlers participated in the event which awarded thousands of dollars in prize money. There were solo categories, as well as group events.

Starting from Meeman Shelby State Park and ending near Mud Island, the course was 3.1 miles which took most about 30 minutes to complete.

Several canoe outfitters, as well as eco-friendly local organizations participated in the vendor fair, spreading the word about what they do and how locals and visitors could get involved.

One of the organizations exhibiting was the Mississippi River Corridor-Tenn., which helped sign up River Citizens and share with attendees how they can get involved with recreation and other activities dealing with the river and its upkeep.
