Jump up and down, shout it from the highest mountain, giggle uncontrollably, do your best Rocky pose – We did it!

The River now has over 10,000 River Citizens to stand up for its best interests.

There have always been people who cared about the River. People physically depend on it for their livelihoods and emotionally for their spiritual well being. The River transports us north and south, but also moves us inward to our core and outward to each other. Now, 1 Mississippi has unified these River Citizens like never before and created a central location to learn about River issues, events and experiences.

Only 1 Mississippi relays and relates the multitudes of dots (or bits of information) to paint a picture of the River, good, bad and the ugly, putting it all into context. Each dot is important, but only when put together can we get a full image. In art this is called pointillism, in life we call it 1 Mississippi.  Just as we are connecting the dots on River issues, we are being connected as dots ourselves.

Connect the Dots in Your Life to the River

We reached our initial goal of connecting 10,000 River Citizens, so what’s next?

Moving forward of course! We will continue to grow until the River gets the national attention it deserves. Word of mouth is the most powerful endorsement in our promotional tool box.  Many of you signed up due to a one-on-one conversation and now we have a chance to pay it forward.

Share this post with a  friend and ask them to become a River Citizen. If you help a friend to become a River Citizen, be sure they give you credit in the “how I heard about 1 Mississippi” box on the form. You both will be entered to win cool prizes like t-shirts, buttons, stickers and so on.

So, who do you know that could use a discounted canoe ride, a hike guided by a park ranger, or information on the important legislation that affects their homes, businesses, futures? Ask a friend to become a River Citizen today!

As always, yours in respect and service,
