There is no shortage of words to describe the Upper Mississippi River;* its waters are epic, dynamic, romantic, magnetic, mysterious, replenishing, and so much more.
Prairie Rivers Network and 1Mississippi believe inspired and engaged individuals are essential to protect the Upper Mississippi River for today and for the future.
Whether you have visited the Upper Mississippi River once, or lived next to it all your life, we invite you to enter our essay contest: “Our Upper Mississippi River: Connection, Inspiration, Transformation.” Share your experiences with, and connection to, this natural wonder. How has the river inspired you? How has it has changed your life? How do you protect this river you love?
HOW TO ENTER
- Fill out the entry form (Word document) and submit it electronically between January 1, 2012 and March 16, 2012.
- Please review the contest guidelines and rules (Word document) before submitting your essay.
The winning essay will be published in the newsletters for Prairie Rivers Network, the 1Mississippi Campaign, and Our Mississippi, an audience of over 6,000!
