Plan FOR A MISSISSIPPI CELEBRATION
On Sunday, June 9, we’ll take a trip to Dubuque, Iowa, for a day of music, food, and fun to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Upper Mississippi Fish and Wildlife Refuge with the Upper Mississippi River Region Interleague Organization (UMRR-ILO). UMRR-ILO has received a grant from the Mississippi River Network and will display the art created on that day. A work of art that helps explain the Mississippi River, its importance, and its needs will be the center of attention. Musical entertainment will fill the air.
Meet at 3 pm CT at the Smokestack in Dubuque, Iowa, for snacks and a view of our League of Women Voters Upper Mississippi River Region artwork display. The Smokestack is a historical building with a rooftop view of the River.
If you’d like to attend on June 9, contact Nancy Porter, Iowa City, League of Women Voters Upper Mississippi River—Inter-League Organization, at nancy55555@icloud.com. (Please put UMRR in the subject line of emails to Nancy.) Thank you!
